Erin Caitlín Karn

Theatre Producer & Creative based in Scotland

I am a theatre Producer working across touring productions, festivals, engagement projects and artist‑led work, with a particular focus on access‑led and care‑centred practice. I am based in Fife, but work remotely with companies across the UK and internationally.

I have produced Edinburgh Festival Fringe runs and worked on multiple UK tours, most notably with Baby Wants Candy, where I worked across producing, production management and stage management on Baby Wants Candy and Shamilton: the Improvised Hip-Hop Parody Musical, including their UK stage debut. I was also the Producer and co‑founder of Poison Ivy Comedy, a monthly comedy night in South East London.

I have worked with Sands International Film Festival as a Festival Administrator, supporting festival delivery and coordinating artists and international guests across multiple editions.

I am the producer for theatre company Bee in my Beanie, whose immersive children’s show Aamira and Gad, was presented at VAULT Festival 2020, received critical acclaim and sold out its run. The company’s later project, The Council of Birds, which debuted at South Street Arts Centre in 2022, and was shortlisted for the LET Award 2023. Alongside producing, I am also a writer; my debut work was presented at Bee in My Beanie’s scratch night I’m Sorry But…, exploring women’s anger.

Earlier in my career, I produced and stage‑managed sell‑out Edinburgh Fringe productions including Alfred Hitchcock’s Writers’ Room (2018) and my own adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Frank (2017).

Alongside freelance work, I currently work in a theatre context supporting festivals, touring companies and engagement programmes, and I also support artists and companies in ongoing roles, including as Production Assistant for The Spontaneous Players and in marketing and administration for Smoking Apples. I am particularly interested in neurodivergent and feminist theatre‑making, socially engaged practice and work that is rooted in community collaboration.
